MADE IN OSAKA. ASSEMBLED EVERYWHERE.
They’re trying to make something happen in the room.

LADY FLASH is an indie band from Osaka, built around nico and sana lingxi. The lineup has changed more than once. The band kept going. Their songs pull from post-punk, indie rock and pop, then usually take a small turn somewhere they weren’t expected to.

LADY FLASH is an indie band from Osaka, Japan, blending the urgency of post-punk with the melodic instincts of indie pop. Their music absorbs influences from across genres and reshapes them into something unmistakably their own—like Kirby, if Kirby had discovered punk. The band originally formed for a university band contest after guitarist/vocalist nico recruited members with one simple motivation: the prize money. A runner-up finish was enough to convince them to keep going, and more than fifteen years later, LADY FLASH is still evolving. Drawing inspiration from artists such as XTC, INU, Pixies, Number Girl, Pavement, and modern US/UK indie music, the band balances jagged guitars, off-kilter melodies, and dual vocals that shift effortlessly between sweetness and chaos. Over the years, LADY FLASH has shared stages with international artists including Frankie Cosmos, The Eversons, Transparent Magazine (透明雑誌), Thigh Master, and The Wellingtons. They also performed in Taiwan alongside Japanese punk band Otoboke Beaver, strengthening their connection with Taiwan's vibrant indie scene. Rather than recreating their recordings on stage, LADY FLASH treats every performance as a chance for something unexpected to happen. Their songs are assembled from everything they've absorbed—but always rebuilt into something new. Made in Osaka. Assembled everywhere.
